Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

We live on Hewitt Road and have recently been visited by Thames Water and have been told that our waste water has been incorrectly plumbed (a historic issue - we've been here 8 years), apparently the waste water that should be going to the sewage is being routed off with the surface water to the local river, and that we need to rectify the situation by doing some new plumbing. I think other people on Hewitt Road have also been told the same - has anyone done anything about this yet?

Does anyone know a good plumbing company that might be able to help?

Might there be any bargaining power if there are lots of houses that need to do this work?

Were you contacted by post, or in person?

Before Christmas, an elderly lady in the Gardens was robbed of a large sum of cash, whilst being visited by a Thames Water conman, who duped her into running some taps upstairs, whilst he entered and stole the money. It's documented in the discussions around that time. I'm sure admin could dig it out and put a link to it here, after this post.
I'm fairly sure this is all bona fide Thames Water - they wrote to us first to make the appointment to come and then carried out some dye tests, and then wrote back to tell us to fix the problem and then contact their surveyor to come and re-inspect. So I don't think this is some elaborate con...

But thanks anyway...

Andrew
It's kosher. Fortunately my plumbing passed muster, but I did speak to Thames Water about it.
