Early Rubbish Truck
I have noticed early in the mornings between 03:00 - 04:00 I am always woken up by the noise and vibration of a heavy waste recycling vehicle driving at speed down Duckett Road. The vibration shakes the whole house. Has anyone else noticed it?

Ditto, one comes down our road between 1& 2am, travelling at speed, slowing down momentarily to traverse the speed humps before roaring off down the road. We have The Banc restaurant at the top of our road so presumably that's the reason for the nightly round.

Speak to Moca and La Vina, it's their commercial waste being picked up.
And when you say you "noticed" presumably they woke you up. Do something about it before you go a bit mad.

Presumably, once Wightman Road reopens the rubbish truck won't need to use a rung road to do this pick up...

They will do some commercial waste on Green Lanes, they have contracts with individual traders, and then head up a rung road to do the commercial premises on Wightman.
When Wightman Rd is open they use the ladder as a shortcut to a void the traffic lights and more importantly the no right turn from Turnpike Lane into Hornsey Park Rd.

There is one that comes down Pemberton at 6am or so and wakes me up. I keep meaning to get up early to catch the sod!

There is a (I think commercial waste truck, but it's unmarked) that travels down Weston Park at about 1am on a Sunday night and during the week. It's speeding and VERY loud. Wakes me every time.
Who would be the best person to contact as it doesn't have a company listed on the truck?

It's not easy to find out Phyllis. Businesses can enter into a contract with any one of the dozens of commercial waste companies that operate in London, not just with Veolia. You could try the general Haringey contact number and ask to speak to some one about commercial waste and see if they have a record of which companies have contract with local businesses (I think they have to let the local authority know who is dealing with their waste arrangements) The fact that the truck is unmarked isn't exactly confidence boosting through.

Hi. We had the same problem on Lothair Road North for months and I was regularly getting woken up at midnight, 3.00 am or 4.00 am at least twice each week while they dragged commercial bins for Tramp/Hashtag and the pub across the street. I emailed Veolia a number of times to see if they could consider slightly more social hours due to the noise but they did not once reply to me. The initial contact person at Haringey would always respond and confirm that the email had been sent to Veolia but then I received nothing back. The problem eased up a bit and I gave up emailing. I understand the need to collect rubbish and the pressures in London but I expected that maybe they could avoid midnight-5.30 in residential areas. If more people are getting affected maybe it is something that could be discussed with our local councillors?

Veolia do our collections, not the commercial ones. The commercial guys have individual contracts. You need to complain to Tramp and Hashtag.
