Well done for keeping the dog safe. Let's hope it's microchipped.

Not mine, but this dog has been missing for a month

RETURNED TO LOVING OWNER.

Well done that's great news!

I'm sure you know all this but in case it helps, any vets will scan the dog for free to see if microchipped so that owner can be contacted.
If it turns out that the dog is not microchipped, it's best to take photos and register it as a found dog on www.doglost.co.uk and www.animalsearchuk.co.uk. It's free to do this.

If the dog is not microchipped, please be aware that sometimes people try to claim a dog that's not theirs.

When a dog is taken to a dog warden, it is kept for 7 days and if not claimed by owner in that time, many end up being put down. Microchipping of dogs will be a legal requirement from April 2016. The sooner everyone gets their cats and dogs microchipped and neutered, the better, as unfortunately many unmicrochipped cats and dogs end up being put down.
