Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

A male white cat (no collar) has been found on Wightman Rd N4 (near Duckett Rd) area at 9pm on 24th August. The cat was roaming on the street and at risk from cars so has been taken safe inside. Also unfortunately the cat is not neutered yet so it's vital that he is not outside due to risk of injuries. He also needs to be neutered to prevent more homeless cats being born from mating. Free Cat Neutering

Animal Rescue charities like The Scratching Post recommend that it's vital for cats to be neutered and microchipped. Adult cats enjoy catflap access to a back garden - and they need catflap access to get back inside their home. They advise locking the catflap at night so that cats are safe inside at night as it reduces the risk of them getting lost or injured. Remember not to let them out the front door by mistake.

Might be worth to take a picture and add to this? Just a thought. there has been a white cat around Harringay station regularly which actually belongs to somebody though. Might be good to put a pic up that end also, just in case?

Thanks for replying. Have now posted photos above. (I'm told that it's not Snowy the cat that lives near Harringay Station near Quernmore Rd). The cat will be scanned this morning at the vets to see if microchipped.

Get the vet to snip him whilst there
Best of luck!

Thanks everyone.

Took the cat to Medivet Finsbury Park who were very helpful. They scanned the cat and fortunately he is microchipped. The chip was registered to an address in East London. The vet called the owners - one of the owners has recently moved with the cat locally here.

The vet has explained to the owner that the cat needs to be neutered so he is now booked in to be done. Also that he was found out the front on the road which is dangerous. Hopefully the owner will also update the microchip company with their new correct contact details.

If the owner hadn't been found, Medivet were going to liaise with Stokey Cats & Dogs for a temporary foster home until owner found.

Just a reminder that Stokey Cats & Dogs have lovely cats needing permanent homes. They also need more volunteers urgently to provide temporary short term foster homes for cats in need so please contact them if you can help. Email is stokeycatsndogs@gmail.com

They help stray cats and get them neutered, microchipped, veterinary care and rehomed. They also rely on and welcome funds donated by the community through their fundraising here or paypal donation (their paypal is stokeycatsndogs@gmail.com). They have a Wish List on Amazon and a Stokey Cats and Dogs Facebook group. I post regularly here about Stokey Cats & Dogs.

How lovely to hear about a happy end! Glad the little fella was found by you and got help!
Ah a happy ending. How fab xx

Update - Unfortunately there has not been a good outcome yet for this white cat. He was a no show for the booked neutering appointment and also microchip has not been updated with correct contact details.

So he is still roaming unneutered out the front on Wightman Rd/ ladder/ Green Lanes and is likely to get injured by a car or fighting. Also as he is unneutered, he will be causing more homeless kittens to be born in the meantime. It's a real shame as this is all so preventable. Will try to help him if caught again.
