Letter received from Network Rail to local residents.
Summary
The following work will be taking place on the rail curve connecting the GOBL and the East Coast line.
1. Sunday 5 November - vegetation clearance between 1am and 11am
2. Sunday 12 November - structure installation and wiring between 1am and 11am
3. Sunday 19 November - structure installation and wiring between 1am and 11am
The work has to be carried out at these times as it requires the closure of both the GOBL and the East Coast line.
I am most concerned about the vegetation clearance, Network Rail say the work will be noisy. I imagine that this will involve the use of chainsaws. Chainsaws at 1am - the noise! Even worse if they also use chipping machines. Network Rail apologises in advance for any disturbance - so that's all right
