 Greenpeace: Develop a clean air action plan now!

Air pollution in the UK is responsible for cutting short 40,000 lives every year. It’s now a public health crisis, where children, the elderly and the most vulnerable people in our society are most affected by dangerous and toxic air.

There isn't a technological barrier stopping us from breathing cleaner air, we have the science and the tech know-how to put a stop to this crisis, what’s stopping us is lack of action from our politicians.

A clean air action plan to save thousands of lives every year.

The Government must develop an action plan to clean up our air, improve our journeys and save thousands of lives every year.

1. Kick start an electric vehicle revolution that would get thousands more cleaner and greener cars on the road.

2. Create a network of clean air zones to protect people in and around schools and hospitals.

3. Drive forward a plan for cleaner and greener public transport.

4. Regulate the car industry.

5. Don’t waste £billions on new roads that will only lead to more air pollution.
