Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Harassment Notice Issued over #stanns Labour Selection Shennanigans DESTROYED

On Thursday I received a letter from my solicitor, that she had been sent by Haringey MPS, saying that they had destroyed the Harassment Notice issued against me for speaking out about the St Ann's Labour Party vote rigging. It has been a horrible thing hanging over me and I hope they've decided not to issue any more when politics is involved.

Anyone who thinks I was an idiot to do this, I'm not going to disagree with you. On the other hand, do we think there might be a little councillor resistance to the St Ann's sell off and the social cleansing going on in Tottenham if Zena Brabazon was still a Labour Councillor? Does what they did make sense now?

I'm not in a position to refund anyone who donated money to pay my legal fees, I've sunk more than £3500 of my own money into this fight too. At least it's over.

Fantastic news John. Thank you for your tremendous courage in standing up for what is right.

Hi John

Like Karen I think you showed great civic courage in starting the thread about the St. Ann's selection. It was a very difficult time and the public support and debate was very helpful to me and would think for David Browne as well. Having gone through all of that with your support,  I am pleased you have now become our friend.

Regarding St. Ann's hospital, I think 14% affordable housing for that site is an appalling decision. Not only because of the huge need for public housing which is genuinely affordable, but also because lack of decent and stable housing is an enormous stress on people and can contribute to mental ill health.  What an irony. I had hoped for better from the mental health trust in their final proposals. I haven't watched the webcast of the planning meeting, but I think it is a great shame the committee accepted this ratio. And we all know 'affordable' is a very loaded word right now where rents might end up being entirely unaffordable.

I enjoyed representing people in St Ann's and met many great activists and residents. But like Tony Benn said when he stopped being an MP I'm now involved in real politics!

All the best

Zena

Zena, you clearly have principles and from what I have heard, are a pretty decent fighter for social justice. You might want to consider the Green Party, as we now have the policies that Labour have abandoned. Labour is NOT going back, and is staring down the barrels of history's gun. The appalling decision on St Anne's and the proposal to slice up Broadwater Farm for private development not to mention the Cannes excursions show that Labour is the enemy of the people in Haringey.

Great news and for what it's worth, much respect from me John

Well done you !

Great news.  An expensive business to remove these warnings though.

My fight continues.    I would like to see MOPAC or the Home Office putting a stop to using these warnings in their present form, especially in civil disputes. They should be limited to where there is a risk of violence or damage.  They should certainly not be published as if the recipient has a criminal record.

The police have now put a whole team on my case which I think means someone has arranged things so no one takes responsibility for whatever is decided, no matter how stupid it is.  It would only take one person an hour to read it and decide what is the right thing to do.

Haringey Police stupidity, under Commander Olisa, led to a harassment warning then an unlawful arrest and now thousands of pounds in legal fees. It will be interesting to see whether Commander Olisa decides to investigate the pack of lies that caused it.

Hi John, belated Happy Birthday and good news that its over.

It may not be over. John has had the warning removed. There will be criminal record associated with the warning which may not have been removed. It may well be published on the PNC database.

These warnings amount to giving John a criminal record without him having committed a crime. The first backer of this policy is Theresa May whose office have stated these warnings should be given when there is insufficient evidence to go to court. In essence MOPAC backs the Home Office Policy. Half the GLA representatives are labour with all the signs of being members of Boris's Blue Rinse Brigade. Time for action.

Regrettably 95% of the people who have read his post don't give a sh*t and that is why it has been allowed to happen.
