Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

A study released last week by OnTheMarket, has revealed the most and least expensive places to rent a room in north London.

Haringey was named as the most expensive borough with a room in a one-bed property costing nearly £1,300 a month to rent and a room in a four-bed property costing just over £900.

Haringey’s neighbouring borough of Enfield was found to be the cheapest place to live in north London.

Link? I find it hard to believe that Hackney and Islington are cheaper!

I agree. I looked on On TheMarket's website before I posted, but couldn't find the article. So perhaps it was something issued as a press release.

I'd also say that you can't compare a one bed to anything else. One bedroom is a one bedroom flat, nothing shared.

The micro flat scam pushing up the averages perhaps? Carving up a house into tiny self contained units then charging the (mainly vulnerable) tenants housing benefit of £700 + per month??

I own a one bed maisonette on a council estate in South Tottenham. I know the upstairs flat was advertised at £1300 a month a couple of years ago. That would work out to nearly a 10% return per annum going by what I paid for my place.

Seems about right. Pretty sure we're going to have move soonish and have realised either we get scalped or get out entirely.
