Hornsey Music Festival 1 - 3 July

This evening was the launch party for the 2016 Hornsey Music Festival. We were treated to the very listenable Hornsey singer songwriter Tim Thackray. Also on stage was jazz singer Sue Sadler. Sue sang with big bands, jazz fusion outfits and performed in cabaret as part of the harmony group, the New Faces. With them she travelled the world working with artists such as Gene Pitney, Jack Benny and a six week tour of the East Coast of the USA with Liberace.
Music will be on four stages this weekend - at the Three Compasses, the Great Northern, the green opposite the end of Middle Lane and on Sunday at the Churchtower. You can see the full programme at www.hornseymusicfestival.com.
Also this weekend in Hornsey, is the loveable timewarp Hornsey Carnival. The procession will start at 2:30 from Priory Park. It's a wonder this event has survived so long and very glad I am that it has.
If that's not enough for you Carter's Steam Fair will also be in Priory Park.

Musical talent oozes in Hornsey Wood, Honsey Vale, Hornsey Rise, and Hornsey and surrounding districts, as it was. Hornsey has always been a creative and inventive place. 700,000 people came to the UK for live music and festivals, as part of that, live music is growing locally as well.
I can see this event growing from year to year, have a lovely festival. As you can see there are some great fixtures, get connected everyone. Enjoy..
