Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Thanks to Lesley for her post yesterday about the work that's been undertaken to the Hornsey National Hall to turn it into a Turkish Community Centre. Since I was passing today, I popped my head in and was shown around by a Mr Talip who kindly allowed me to snap a few pictures on my iphone.

As Lesley has alreday said, they appear to have worked very hard to achieve a decent level of sympathetic restoration in a Turkish style.

Replacement stained glass windows:

New panels:

Modelled on the old:

And a great prayer space:

Great photos Hugh. Look forward to the opening. Shame Haringay council's useless Planning Dept couldn't be bothered to respond to my enquiries in December and made me think the worst. I should have known it was the usual incompetence and laziness. The people at the Turkish Community Centre were very welcoming.

I'm just wondering where the stained glass from above the door which I believe said 'Hornsey Parish Hall' has disappeared to this week? Looks to have been replaced with a clear pannel.

I worry for the original piece of stained glass' safety
