I lived near Mornington Crescent when the Tube was closed, and it remained so for a long time.

There'd be an insanely long stretch without stations between KX and Holloway if they shut this. There's already a dead station along that part of the line and it's one of the longest distances between stops! Seems a bit odd in zone 2.

Absolutely.

Why blame Boris ? The plans were drawn up by TfL.

If this is being read as a permanent closure, it isn't. Like the current closure of Tufnell Park station, it would have been for 6-8 months only while the two lifts are replaced. Clearly N7 is a lot more vocal than NW5. As for York Road station, closed in 1932, if it reopens to serve the enormous development north of Kings Cross it will have to be completely rebuilt with full step-free access, the cost of which is prohibitive without developer contributions.

It's all a bit academic anyway, since, according to the Islington Gazette,  TfL have already decided not to close the station.

Indeed. The ability to jump on a passing bandwagon often exceeds the need to do so!
