Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I've just posted an event listing for the first Cally Festival in just under four weeks.

It sounds quite similar to the Harringay Festival, but wow, just look at the the sponsorship they've got for the Cally one:

Hi Hugh

I actually spoke to the organiser last night as she is trying to do something very similar to the posting I put up yesterday about encouraging indpendent shops through a series of pop up shops and generally just sprucing up Cally Road, she has offered me a pitch to come down and talk about the change Wood Green High St Campaign. I am really keen to learn more from the Cally Road team as they have achieved a huge amount of support for what they are doing so am meeting up with them this week. If anyone is interested in getting involved in the Wood Green campaign please let me know. Also make a point of going to the Cally Road festival as they really do have some fantastic things going on!

Good for them.........and good for you. Come back and lets us know if we can borrow some Kings Cross stardust!

Two more fast approaching local(ish) street festivals (Where Harringay goes the others follow!)

Palmers Green Festival

The Palmers Green Festival was created by local charity Pro-Cancer-Research-Fund early in 2009 to replace their annual health and awareness day. It now forms part of the general PCRF mission to encourage people of all ages to engage with their health.

The idea was to create a fun, free, community event for all ages that celebrates our rich diversity, with To organise and run the event, a team of volunteers came together and formed the PGF committee. This committee set about inviting a number of musicians from the north London area, as well as local schools, sole traders and health practitioners. Local businesses also got involved, eager to lend their support to PCRF and make the Palmers Green Festival a fun and exciting event.

I've just heard from Rob who's one of the group organising the Harringay Festival that he met with the Cally Road folks and was told by them that our festival was the inspiration for theirs.
