Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

One of our young cats has gone missing.  he's an adventurous, micro-chipped, black & white with a blue collar.  His name is Socks and usually runs towards a tapped dish (!).  Last seen on Sunday 2nd August in another Effingham Road garden.  He's about 8 months old.

Please get in touch if you spot him.

Hope you find him soon, will keep a lookout for him.

Well done for microchipping him, if only everyone were so sensible, hope he's neutered as well. Remember to call the microchip company, tell them he is lost and check that they have your correct contact details.

It often helps to empty some contents of your hoover outside your home (or put out something which has his scent) as he will recognise scent even if quite far away. Flyers are useful, including roads with gardens backing on to your garden. He may have got trapped in someone's house or shed by mistake.

It's also useful to put details of a lost pet on www.animalsearchuk.co.uk with good photos, including close up photo of his face.

You probably do this anyway, so this is just general advice to other cat owners out there - it's a good idea to lock the catflap at night so that cats are safe inside at night as it reduces the risk of them getting lost or injured.

There are useful tips on finding a lost cat on here www.stokeycatsanddogs.co.uk

Thanks for everyone who has spread the word. 'Socks' has been returned. He was being fed by a neighbour tempting him with better food.

Glad you found him.

A new safety release breakaway collar might help. There are good personalised ones, such as your phone number printed on the collar - which you can get from www.kittycollars.co.uk and you can get them to print do not feed.
