He was just a chancer. He only got past Tessa in the selection process because the cyclists that were enlisted by Christian Wolmar and lefties from the Corbyn effect gave him their second vote over Tessa. He's been very disappointing. His response to the pollution was out of step with his contemporaries on the continent and rather backwards looking. This just makes it even sadder.
