Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi all

Has anyone seen my cat Hank hanging around their gardens at all? I live on Kimberley Gardens (N4 area) at the very bottom of the street (not the Green Lanes end) and my wonderful big male tabby has been missing since Saturday evening. He never stays out all night and ALWAYS comes back for food.

He is pretty street wise as he was a rescue cat and lived in a car park for the first two years of his life. I think someone may have taken him in as I was sure he was being fed elsewhere as he was putting on weight even though i had him on a slight diet.

I have added photos, hes tabby with 4 white paws and has quite distinguishing white markings on his face. He is micro-chipped and neutered>

Please let me know if you have seen him anywhere over the last few days.

Many thanks

Vicky

Hi Vicky. Sorry handsome Hank is missing, will keep a lookout. Fingers crossed he will be back home safe soon.

I'm so glad that you gave Hank a home. How happy he looks in your photos. (I remember he was previously living in a car park, fending for himself for almost 2 years, very scared until he was rescued by Stokey Cats and Dogs, neutered and microchipped and fortunately rehomed with you.

Hi Justine

Thanks for your kind words. Im just heartbroken and really cant understand what has happened to him. We have such a strong bond, hes like my best mate and where ever i am he is usually by my side chatting away. Im trying to stay positive that he will come home and that someone has taken him in for some reason. Ill keep you updated anyway.

Many thanks

I do hope you get good news soon. You're doing everything right - you're publicising, you've put details on Animal Search and he's microchipped. (I presume you've checked that the microchip company has your correct contact details).
It's fortunate that he has striking markings on his face as that will make him easier for people to spot. Best thing to do is put flyers through the letterboxes of houses in your road and also through letterboxes in the road which has gardens backing on to your garden. Here are some quotes from others who successfully found their cats -
"We put flyers through letterboxes of the two streets closest to where he was last seen, and he was found in one of the back gardens of these roads - we'd definitely recommend doing this. We also put posters around a much wider area.
"our leaflet campaign worked, and after 8 days, and many false sightings, he was found and is returned to us! NB 400 leaflets were printed and distributed in surrounding streets, along with 50 posters"

"I put up posters and then I went door to door in the immediate surrounding three streets' radius and posted leaflets through doors - those are what got the best responses that lead to me finding him. Posters on telephone/electricity poles and walls, leaflets through letter boxes and recruit your neighbourhood kids!"

He came home!!! He was meowing outside my bedroom door at 6am, we were so happy to see each other, im over the moon! He seems fine if a little hungry, its been exactly a week and i will never know where he got to. Im going to take him to the vets for a check up then i might try him with a tracker in case he goes missing again. Thanks for all your advice and help during this very worrying week. Best day ever!!!

That's great news! What a relief!

Try to get him into a routine so that he's not out late after dark. These safety personalised collars are also useful.
