Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I like the drama offered by the new lights. The misty-moisty night shows it off quite well. (Click picture to enlarge)

Brings back the days of the eerie glow of mercury-vapour lamps, are these new lamps actually LEDs or HIDS?.

Definitely LEDs - you can see the grids of individual LEDs in the lamp head. Also LEDs have longer life than HIDs. Thanks for the reminder about mercury-vapour lamps colour!

Thanks Gordon, had a walk around the common earlier in the late sun, saw the new LED lamps in Willoughby Road.

Yes I liked it too. Even more amazing when someone started letting fireworks off in the street at midnight.

Phew those are bright!

Is that just reflection off the fog, or because you're looking uphill

Bit of both. This was around midnight and was mistier than it was earlier in the evening. I might be the odd one out since I really like that it is this bright though.

earlier that evening

It's a great photo. And when you click to enlarge it you can really see the wide angle of the beam.

Does anyone know when/if these lights will be installed in the passage?  I assumed that was a priority area.

Is it my imagination or do they lights get "turned down" during the course... they seem really bright around 10pm but less so in the wee small hours!
I think they do get turned down after midnight
