Mushroom Growing Course at the Living Under One Sun Community allotment!

Are you interested in growing your own mushrooms to eat? This exciting course will explore different growing techniques using grain, straw and wood to give you the skills to grow gourmet and medicinal mushroom such as Oyster, Reishi and Shiitake at home. The course will be taught by Darren Springer, a local mushroom expert,who even manages to grow mushrooms in his one bedroom flat just round the corner.

The course will be a hands on experience, covering everything that you need to know to get started including:

• What are mushrooms?
• How do mushrooms grow?
• How do you grow mushrooms at home?
• Mushroom aftercare
• How to make and use spore prints, spawn and spore syringes
• Where to get everything you need
• practical tips and experience from Darren.

Refreshments will be provided but we ask everyone to bring their own lunch.

Everyone will leave with an innoculated mushroom growing jar, hand outs and a ‘how to do it’ CD.
