Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

To celebrate their 90th anniversary and to encourage more visitors into the gardens open this summer the National Gardens Scheme are launching a photography competition on the
first day of their Anniversary Weekend (27th May).

The National Garden Scheme is the most significant charitable funder of nursing charities in the country, donating over £50 million so far. The organisation helps  garden owners open their  gardens to the public, sharing their passion and raising impressive amounts of money through entry fees, teas and slices of cake.

The photography competition will run throughout summer, closing on the 1st September and aims to encourage visitors to take a photo in a National Garden Scheme garden to win prizes,
including a trip to Mary Berry’s garden with four friends!

Attached is a longer overview of the competition for your information.

Entrants should check first what happens to copyright.  No mention on their blurb.  This one is at least offering some payment ("prizes").  Many competitions do a rights grab, claiming copyright in all media forever, so they can use and sell on your work with nothing coming back to you. Including, sometimes, this applies to all entrants regardless of whether they get a prize.  Just sayin'.

Thank you Pamish. I don't actually sell my pictures but I have been surprised to see them pop up far from the original site.

google image search can find them.  If they are on a commercial site, the NUJ freelance fees guide gives you a starting point for an invoice.
