Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

New post on the LBH planning portal, ref HGY/2013/2475. Display of 1 x painted mural and 6 identical vinyl emblems (all non-illuminated).  Does this mean it won't be sold off as flats?  Or is it marketing for a special ex-pub development?

The link also shows a copy of the Design Statement for all the Green Lanes shopfronts, a handy reference.

Also new today is a plan for change to shopfronts at the Coliseum - I think adding sliding doors, have a look at the LBH page, application ref HGY/2013/2477.  It's not my local so I can't see the difference.

Looks lovely!

I was waiting until someone else said so but I think it looks cool too.

Well, to me it doesn't look radically different from how it does now - but the mural sounds like a genuine improvement. None of the signs are illuminated, so I'm not sure where the bling is going to come from tbh...

Understated elegance has always been OAE's hallmark. But who am I to object to a Painted Muriel behind the bar, as long as she can pour a pint?

I think they should use local artists, there's some great talent about 1/2/ a mile away.

Not sure about this one.  I agree with Abster, doesnt look vastly different.  If they are re-doing it might be a good opportunity to bring it upto date a bit (not necessarily spending lots of money).  Would be wise to think about who your common-or-garden Greenlaner would be now and in the future.

Do love the pub as a whole though.
