Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

An event at Hornsey Town Hall on 15 March, the fifth anniversary of the start of the Syrian conflict, with speakers including Catherine West MP and Allaa Barri from Human Care Syria, along with the personal testimonies of refugees now living in Haringey, including Asmahan, Sharif, and Indira Kartallozi, Kosovan refugee and advice worker.

Speakers will be followed by music from across the region. There will also be stalls from local refugee and migrant support organisations, a collection for Haringey Migrant Support Centre, and a bar for good measure.

Haringey council is so far refusing to take part in the Vulnerable Person Resettlement scheme - which means it still won't accept refugees - and we don't think that's right.

As borders across Europe close and refugee camps are shut down by authorities, come along to hear the experiences of refugees from Syria and elsewhere, celebrate the contributions of our many and varied communities, and send out a powerful, positive message to the local council and the world: Haringey welcomes refugees!

Free entry but booking via Eventbrite is required since the organisers are expecting it to be busy:
