Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Cycling up Green Lanes tonight I saw that temporary traffic lights had been set up near Yasar Halim; a yellow sign on a post indicated resurfacing was to take place.

I wasn't able to slow down to read the sign properly but I imagine - and hope! - this programme will see the abysmal state of Green Lanes, and in particular the southbound stretch towards the bridge, put right.

I'm a bit puzzled though as the works don't appear on the relevant council webpage. Does anyone here know what is planned?

Amen to that, Green Lanes is the most apalling road surface I've ever had the encounter to use.  I greatly enjoyed cycling along the 20 feet of fresh tarmac yesterday!

I wouldn't hold your breath. They'll probably cover a little section and that will be it for now (last year they did a bit of Green Lanes - Manor House way. It caused massive traffic jams, closing off each side of the road and after a bit of rain brand new pot holes appeared in those sections).

The state of GL is so bad that the whole road needs re-surfacing, not just fixing pot holes or selective sections. Last year Karen Alexander mentioned there was some money left in the kitty for the road repairs but nothing has happened so watch this space and our new councillors.

In the meantime, I'll be hoping to get to/from home in one piece on my bike.
