"forms of corruption within the Council to shame the 'tribal' Labour voters"

Do you think that the 'tribal' voters are capable of feeling shame, Phil?

The words of that woman comparing the deaths of children under Labour-administered social services with the far worse crime of voting Tory are still ringing in my ears.

Lydia Rivlin - Conservative candidate for Harringay Ward

If you haven't recycled the leaflet, Tris I'd appreciate your copy. Or one from anyone else who's kept it. I'm planning to take some more photos* in Seven Sisters ward and can collect it from you.

Just so you know, I'm still a member of the Labour Party. (And have been for over forty years.)  But to me, the values you list of transparency, honesty, and integrity, together with a respect for truth and evidence, are more important than any party or sectional loyalty.

Truth can seem like the first casualty of elections, when politics is the usual propaganda; but louder and on an industrial scale.  Although to be fair, I'm sure some politicians do sincerely and genuinely believe their own or their party's lies.

I particularly like your willingness to correct your own factual errors. Makes a change from HoL contributors who start with a conclusion and work backwards to gather any supporting facts. Or who assert something without bothering with evidence at all.

You've mentioned one topic which you might want to look at again. That's your comment about Andrea Holden. As you live in Seven Sisters ward Andrea may be a not-far-away neighbour of yours.  Can I suggest you might want to have a brief fact-check with her. Rather than reach for the bell-book-and-candle of St Wards of the Corner.

(Tottenham Hale ward councillor. Until 22 May)

*P.S. On my recent visits to Seven Sisters ward the streets did seem remarkably and unusually clean.  (As claimed in the Labour Party Koberfesto. ) With one exception: the traditional "Welcome to Sunny Tottenham" waymarker near South Tottenham station.

This only has 200 views which is pathetic considering the quality of the post and the timing. Voters going to the polls with their heads in a bucket again?

Agreed- an excellent post. Naturally, I would hope they vote for me, Daniel Babis and Kemal Elkoca--the Conservative Team for Seven Sisters. As I've said before, this council will still be Labour on Friday morning - with a bigger majority. A couple of Conservative on the Council would give them a shock. And one they deserve! Do we want to live in a one-party state? I don't.

Despite being well administered and having some interesting and informative posts Hol is not really something that is very influential. The digital age where everyone is online and hotly pursuing topics on social media is a bit of a myth. Most people don't actually use it much and are still very influenced by the press and tv.

Oh I don't know, it has generated intense interest from the local Labour Party and the Metropolitan Police Service so it must be doing something potentially influential. Just because they don't post doesn't mean they're not looking and worrying.

I'm not clicking on that Justin and neither should anyone else. How about some explanation of what it is?

Always good to know.

So I'd be very interested also to know what members of the Charedi community make of the Labour Party's promise of working with the askonim to drive improvements in Our Kehillah.

And perhaps the Labour Party would also like to release the leaflets/adverts it issues about other promises for community leaders in other communities. Or is this just a Kober and Goldberg initiative?

(Tottenham Hale ward councillor)

I've asked Joe Goldberg and Claire Kober on twitter if it's a spoof and we need to get the police involved. They've not replied. Must be busy.

Why would you want to get the police involved?
