Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

TCV (The Conservation Volunteers) is the largest environmental volunteering charity in the UK. We carry out conservation tasks such as coppicing, hedge laying, vegetation management and tree planting in parks, woodlands and nature reserves. We improve access to these green spaces by constructing paths, steps, pond dipping platforms and bridges.

Our Haringey office is set in Railway Fields, a small but beautiful Local Nature Reserve situated off busy Green Lanes. We are currently looking to recruit a Conservation Intern.

As Conservation Intern you will be assisting and learning from the North London Project Officer, working on various sites including Stanmore Country Park, Bentley Priory and Coldfall Wood. As you develop skills and confidence, you will take a leading role on practical project days, supervising other volunteers and helping them work safely and effectively. You will also spend one day a week in our Railway Fields office, helping with administrative tasks, such as promoting volunteering opportunities, ordering materials for construction projects and keeping social media platforms up to date.

TCV has an excellent reputation in the environmental sector, and this is your opportunity to gain invaluable conservation skills. You can claim reasonable travel expenses and will receive relevant training such as First Aid, Safeguarding, Project Leadership and Wildlife ID.

Necessary Commitment: You will work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 9-5pm for a minimum of 6 months.

Informal interviews will be held on February 24th.
