Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

It's all happening. And it's also a bit odd. There's a rather retro, yellow-faced, 50s-style clock. Rather stylish and classy but the backdrop of "ACCIDENT CLAIMS" in white neon rather spoils the effect.

Then you have the alien stalks . At least that's what they look like - tall black poles with eye-like cylindrical appendages pointing at the ground. I presume they are in fact cameras, or else lights. But as they are all pointing squarely at the pavement it is hard to see what their purpose is regardless of their function.

To top off all this retro/modern weirdness, there is a massive Christmas tree surrounded by adoring orange crash barriers.

I can't help a sneaking feeling this could be one massive art installation and by Friday the whole piazza ;-) will have been Banksyed (ie crowbarred out and stolen). Perhaps they'd take our legal friends with them?..

Duckett and Burgoyne also have the light stalks. With a pub on the corner, like St Ann's, I guess I can see why they'd choose Burgoyne. I don't know the logic behind the choice of Duckett though. I'd have thought they'd  have worked well on Allison to light up the New River sign.

Right... So... They're lights?

I think so, but can't claim any privileged knowledge.
