Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

This year, the poppy wreaths on the small, simple war memorial in Windrush Gardens, West Green, tell passersby that many of the men listed were killed at the Somme 100 years ago in 1916. 

Small wooden crosses with hand written inscriptions remember the dead of both World Wars.

A family remembers Robert Gardener, a lovely Dad, killed in the Lordship Rec Shelter Disaster in September 1940, aged 53
