Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I know it's been asked before, but just wondering as we end 2015 what HOLers' opinion was on the best Turkish breakfast on Green Lanes?

The shop next to akdenis on station road in Wood Green did the best Turkish breakfast I know of ( kings breakfast ).

Not Harringay but when you guys get a tube station of your own, you'll be able to get out more. Put it in the 2078 diary.
Having to take the bus to get to the tube is like having to fart before you can order a beer.

Actually its, worse because after the first beer of the day the farts would be punctual and they would queue up effortlessly.

What is a Turkish breakfast ? I'm guessing not fried eggs, toast and marmalade

It's a cross between German and Greek. Served on time with no tax to pay with lots of sausage, cheese, and olives.

N4 does really good menemen  - their's is the one with the eggs poached in the sauce rather than scrambled.  Mezzo does the scrambled sort and they're good - particularly the one with feta in.

thank you for info about menemen which is easily one of the most enjoyable Turkish dishes-ideal for lunch which I've enjoyed frequently in the Press Museum in Sultanahmet    I don;t eat big breakfasts but am sure menemen would be as good for some then    I live in N6   where is the nearest and best menemen please?

I prefer gozleme (the simplest one which has feta cheese and herbs inside).  In Hala, it comes with a small plate of black olives, cucumber and tomatoe slices.  Turkish tea is included.  The whole thing costs £3 or maybe £3.50.  A real bargain and it is brought to your table hot within a minute.
