Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

My Virgin Media Service for Broadband Internet and TV has been down now for a week. Each time I have phoned them there is a message stating that there is a problem in the area and  they are dealing with it and it will be back on in a day or two. I finally got through to a human being today and when they investigated I was told that there were 840 cables that have disintegrated in the area near Effingham Road, where I live, Wightman Rd and Falkland Rd. They have to some how repair or replace the cables but Haringey council are not co operating. Virgin media have to write  a proposal to the council to get them to control or block the traffic so that the work can be done. They told be that they are advising customers to complain to the council to try and speed things up!!!  This could take ages. They cant give any estimation when the service can be resumed. I often work at home and have no internet and we don't have TV service for the forseeable future. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem. Maybe we could put some pressure on the council to speed things up.

Try the "Virgin cable down until Monday" conversation in the list linked to by the tag beneath your post.

Thanks Hugh

Threaten to move your service to Sky or BT. That should do it!

We have the same problem just off Seven Sisters Road. My partner had a thorough complaining session, got £40 refunded for the downtime and a promise of an engineer turning up on Monday (27 Feb).

But that's a week away !!
