Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I'm sure there used to be a lovely big weeping willow near the New River at our end of the park - or am I imagining things? I didn't see its passing, but it's certainly not there now.

Well I'm still waiting for someone to say "you're right, what about those trees!" over the ones that used to be in the Hawes and Curtis/BDC car park (and would make the site not quite as suitable for development). More here.

And here's the latest Government guidance on tree protection. It says illegally felled trees have to be replaced (Though quite how you replace a 100 year old tree is not clear! I guess £20k out the the price they're likely to get for that plot is small potatoes).

Yes, you were right back then.. and now..

There was a tree leaning over the water, near the Endymion Road bridge, which was cut back and then finally removed when the bank was strengthened last year, perhaps that's the one you mean. You can check it out on Google Street View using the timeline option.
