Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I think it should at least be discussed, to see what local thought there is, and what level of knowledge there is on the topic. (The clinic replacing the old Hornsey Hospital on Park Rd seems polyclinicesque.)

Do you mean a polyclinic, or a WiC (walk in centre), or a UCC (urgent care centre) or a MIU (minor injuries unit) ?

If there is any cross over, I think it's all relevant to find a model that will would work, and put it up for discussion to expand upon.
Given that it is virtually impossible to get an appointment at my GP practice I think this would be an amazing thing to have. We have more and more houses/flats being built but no new GP surgeries that I'm aware of.
In our case I guess it's a matter of what we need, somethings might work in tandem on a campus or individually, according to our health care needs assessment for the area, but we can do an ideal scenario, to address shortfalls in current care provision, or we can just look at models that are out there, as typologies. The floor is open.

There was a proposal a few years ago to establish polyclinics across the borough.  The problem was that it involved moving all the GP surgeries to the clinics (and I think closing some), so that most people would have further to travel.  It was primarily a cost-cutting device.  Polyclinics themselves are I think a great idea, but we need to be clear about the impact on general practice.
