[H&H link]: Haringey council to spend £30,000 on trip to Cannes
They're going back again!
Another £30,000 of taxes has gone south.
To the south coast of France at what can be an inclement spell in London. Have the leaders of our local Conservative Labour administration not developed a fondness for the Riviera?
As for the past (part) sponsors, Haringey is more than a place, its a gratitude.
Austerity?
Not if you're In with the In-crowd.

Hmmph, negativity won't win your party more votes Clive.
Try posting some new ideas and postive thoughts, rather than continually trawling through the mire. It will, at least, make your party smell better and perhaps more attractive.
Clive, as an opposition councillor, has a duty to expose and challenge wasteful spending. The council doesn't have any money--they only have *our* money. In theory, I have no problem with them going to Cannes IF they can attract £millions back in investment to improve our borough (Micheal poses a good question). Spending almost £100,000 on re-designing their logo and hiking up councillors' allowances, when cuts are being made to frontline services, is criminal. It all adds up.
