Well worth a visit. As well as a fun place to explore, we spent just £6.99 and came away with four very nice perennials. Where else can you do that?
One of the customer we got chatting to said they sell the hens' eggs when they have them and in the summer lots of just picked vegetables. And this is 'Aringey?
This place is surely worth saving.

You have to go through the bit where the café is and it's through a door opposite the counter. It's incredibly hot in there but worth persevering over the bridge and past the waterfalls all the way to the end to see the turtles and there's a bench where you can sit down and watch them. They even have bananas growing! There's also a cactus house with some huge specimens, although that one is a work in progress I think.

We went on Wednesday and staggered home with a garden full of plants for 30 quid. If you like cacti there are some real bargains

It's a great place, we filled our boot with plants from Wolves Lane for about the same price as a potted one from Sunshine Or Alexandra Palace garden centre.
Also if anyone's interested there's an allotment sale at Shepherds Hill allotments this Sunday.

It's surprising how few people know it exists, even my old neighbours who have lived in Haringey all their lives had never heard of it! I urge everyone to go there and support it because it would be a real shame if it shut down. It's a shame the café isn't better or open on weekends, because that could be a real money spinner for them.

Totally agree. The chef is an absolute gem and she makes the tastiest Jamaican offerings. Jerk chicken and goats curry is Devine. Shame they don't open at the weekends, because that would bring in the customers. They could consider cakes and coffee at the weekends even?
The bit you visited with the koi carp is the palm house and it's a bit of a highlight. Not a lot of people know this, but BEHIND the cactus room (you go through the cactus room, and push the back door), there is a rainforest room.
Also, at the back of the Palm house, next to the bench is another room where you get to see the gecko, tarantula, stick insects and other wonder creatures. This room is used by the local schools and I believe booking with Angela is required. Although, we've just swung by and knocked on her door and she has warmly invited us in for a look. Children are allowed to hold the creatures too.
Well worth a visit. Spread the word. Would be a huge shame if it were to close down.

You can catch the hopper bus, w6 outside wood green bus depot. It's a hail and ride bus, so just tell the driver you'd like to get off at the garden centre. It'd be the equivalent to four stops.... 5 mim bus ride.
It's obviously walkable from WG underground, but tricky to explain.

I Agee about the cafe. We arrived just after 2:30 deperate for coffee to find that it had just closed for the day. I think if the garden centre was better publicised they could be as packed out as Sunshine in Bounds Green
