The local services into King Cross weren't electrified  until 1976.

Alan Pegler, Flying Scotsman's new owner, "taking delivery" of it on a run from Kings Cross to Doncaster on 14th January, 1963. Hornsey Station with Alan Pegler waving from the footplate. There were a lot of well-wishers at every station.

I was in my last year at Tottenham County School and, in my lunch break, ran down the High Road to catch a 41 bus at Seven Sisters. Arriving at Hornsey Station there was no-one in the booking office so it was straight down onto the platform, take the photograph, wave to Mr. Pegler and dash back to the bus stop to catch the next 41 back in time for the afternoon lessons - I just made it!
