Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

St. John's college was a primary and secondary day and boarding school for boys just south of Manor House tube about here. It was founded in 1881 and survived until the middle of the twentieth century.

Just round the corner, Marlborough House, the first of the big old houses on Woodberry Down, was also a school of some sort. The following ad was placed in The British Friend newspaper in 1861:

Richard Abbatt was a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and seems to have been somethig of a scholar authoring several astronomy and mathematical text books. Below is the preface to his "Physical Elements of Astronomy" published in 1871.
