Was this the stall run by the Baldwin family in one of the side roads off the High Road ?

Sorry to say there was no information on the photos about the stall holder. The stall is still there though just off the High Road by the Barclays Bank branch and with Sainsbury's now behind the stalls.

That Barclays in the background was my family's bank in the 50s and 60s. For a split second I though the guy in the queue with glasses might even be my dad!  In fact my first decent car was bought with a £250 loan (agreed by manager Mr Pepper?). A Wolseley 1500 bought from a local copper in 1964.

To Hugh's point, the two photos of the fruit and veg stall were in my father's photo collection (he was an amateur photographer, mostly of the Barnet area) but these had the name Bill Watts written on the back so it is likely that such person was the photographer. My father had various photography pals but any knowledge of them is all lost in time now so I can't tell who took the photos. But they show a time in our social history seemingly so far away from now. If it really was the swinging sixties the customers in the photo seem unaware of it.

Richard, we couldn't afford a car! But I do recall my richer uncle had a Hillman Minx in cream and scarlet. Marvellous.
