Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Anyone know why Veolia think it's ok to drive their lorry down the street collecting recycling at quarter to seven in the morning?

Yesterday I was walking to Seven Sisters, passed the Veolia truck, then further down the road the whole pavement was blocked by a bin on its side. The truck was just a bit far away for me to run back and ask them to move it, also I'd hurt my leg running. Speaking of which my running group delivered leaflets for Living Under One Sun on Wednesday evening and we saw one entrance just like yours. We left that door, it just looked too foreboding!
What I heard Gordon T is that risk assessments are now carried out on entrances. Yours is a definite hazard for any Veolia employee (or wandering postperson) ... cracked/missing tiles a trip hazard & moss/weeds a slip hazard, particularly on a rainy day. Oh dear :)

Ahead of you on those matt, the missing one-half tile is not on the walking line, it's right up against the wall. The 'moss' again is to the sides - underneath the garden waste bag the path is clear enough not to be a slip hazard.  Part of my old job involved safety.....

On my estate they turn up at 6am most days!
Blimey. I'm really not sure why you all put up with it!
I live opposite one of their "village" hubs. It used to be a lot worse. Street cleaners arriving at 5:45 to smoke Polish cigarettes, talk loudly and on one occasion there was a fight. They're a lot quieter now. I get up for work at 6 (or I'm supposed to), it's when I've planned a weekend lie in that it really gets me, especially if the local "youf" have been up smoking weed and kicking balls half the night.

Because I'm on an estate it's constant too. Recycling at least once a week, refuse twice, food waste once.

I got them to be quieter after the fight - I jumped out of bed, pulled some clothes on, went outside and filmed it. Then I sent it to Veolia.

Think yourself lucky they actually collect from you!  I am constantly having to telephone Veolia to report that once again, my food waste bin has not been emptied, despite me placing it very helpfully by the gate for them!  It must be about 5 or 6 times so far this year.  They then arrange to empty it on a Saturday.  Why can't they just empty it in on our collection day in the first place?????????

Definitely keep reporting it. If it's like the council I work for they make the same crew go back to collect it. It's how they learn!
