1. a massive clear out of estate agents boards off the buildings on Green Lanes.

Sadly this: "Enforce planning regs on satellite dishes" only affects people with North Facing gardens as they have to stick the satellite dishes on the front of their houses, contravening any regulations about size and number more obviously than those who get to stick them on the back.

Once again.. Public Transport relies and will continue to rely on Diesel run vehicles. At the same time other reports points out the dangers of this.

Why aren't you talking about this in the report? Buses, whether stuck in traffic or speeding along dedicated 'bus lanes' still cause too much pollution.

I'm sorry, but all you are doing is papering over the cracks. NO commitment to change.

The end of last week I was working in München..  Ten years ago, buses filled to the point of fun.. slogged along in traffic on a four lane road.. Since the tram was introduced here four and half years ago, passengers carried have doubled and continue to rise. Trams seem to be the way forward for many places now. How ridiculous that we ripped up all the tram tracks and replaced them with diesel buses, oh with the benefit of hindsight eh!

Maybe we could solve the Wightman Road issue with a tram service end to end! And while we are at it, take out the parking on Green Lanes and restore the tram service, with the green verge to run on like the one Stephen shows in Munchen, then it will really will be "Green" Lanes.

I entirely agree but as far as this study goes the introduction of trams isn't within the gift of Haringey. If that is one of the recommendations of the study (and I hope it is) it'll go to City Hall who'll pass it to TfL, who'll add it to their evidence base and then........

One thing to remember is that there was a proposal a few years ago for a central London tram line which has a terminus at Somers Town/Kings Cross. That got stamped on and no more was heard.

Yes, I know Michael. This is not a criticism of your work.. But there must be more public awareness of what could be done.

Ah, so they have or haven't done a traffic count during the Wightman Rd closure? From comments made by people on this portal it appears there has been about a 90% drop off in traffic volume on ladder roads during the closure. So a huge amount of traffic is cut through. That's the biggest thing we have found out ... and they haven't even mentioned it.

The council or maybe the officer Ann Cunningham chooses to highlight a few roads counting 1000 vehicles a week when most ladder roads were (pre-Wightman Rd closure) far higher than this. This tells me that the council/Ms Cunningham see ladder traffic as a non-issue (!). Doesn't bode well for change, more the status quo with maybe a few changes made around the edges.

They have done post bridge closure counts as far as I'm aware Matt - I'm trying to get hold of the raw data which I'll post when/if I do.

No I never so those either. And when they were doing the pre closure count I saw them all over the borough.

I understood the same as you, Michael. However, I've just been called by a Council officer and told that the post-closure count has yet to be done. It's due in the next few weeks and the results a couple of weeks after that.
