Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Is it just me or are the dodgy groups hanging around the station getting worse?

I received some police marketing a while ago stating the issue was being "tackeled", and yet there are groups of guys out there blatantly dealing/taking drugs in broad daylight, with seemingly no fear that they may be arrested.

What can we do to make sure that the decent people of Turnpike Lane are not ignored?

Wow. Racially abusing little kids? What a prince. I'm not sure I'd be responsible for my actions if someone picked on my child. Although there are people on here that will say that we should make allowances for pepole having "painful" lives but I don't accept that. Why should your kids have to experience that? Or that young girl being sexually harassed? The good part about the story is that other people came to your aid and backed you up.

Reassuring, for sure. How can we find out when the community meeting will be?

Has anybody heard more about the community meeting? There is nothing on the internet as far as I can see other than the HoL page. I am concerned that Operation Hayle in its current form may be back-firing. Last night for example the same 20 or so drug dealers who have been hanging around TL station were still there, however rather than congregating in the pedestrian areas outside the station they were spread out along Langham Road with the majority out of the scope of the newly installed cameras. If the effect of Operation Hayle is to move the dealers into less well lit residential areas then that is arguably a more serious problem. It would be good to get more details form the police about how they will deal with these consequences and what we can do to help.

Yes, I agree about the drug dealers just spreading into the residential streets. That is definitely happening. I would like to attend the meeting as well.
Canada has legalised heroin and America has become the worlds number one marijuana distributer and we are still trying to police marijuana on Turnpike Lane.

God help us.

Doctors in Canada can prescribe heroin to severely addicted patients who have repeatedly failed to conquer their addiction.

That is not " legalising " it.

It's actually crack they are selling as well as occasionally meth. I know you like to see it as a couple of kids making a it of money on the side but in the last few months at least you can see it had escalated.

The fact I know what drugs they're selling from them openly having numerous bags in the car counting them out to their local dealers shows how significant the criminal activity is around there.
It's mostly marijuana, MDMA ( which can appear in a crystal form) and powdered cocaine, we know by all the large drug surveys the government do that that is what young people mostly take. All not as addictive as alcohol.

Marijuana being by far the biggest market.
That explains why I saw two gentlemen head at pace to the newsagent on langham road and ask for the little bags, I presume they must have been doing brisk business last week. Maybe the police can pop in to the newsagents and confirm if they've been selling out of little plastic Jiffy bags. And enquire who their best customers are?
Why don't you police the second and forth most addictive drugs in the world right now
(Alcohol and cigarettes ) instead ?

Why bully people who chose to indulge in a safer lifestyle?

Because they are breaking the law ?

What other laws do you choose to ignore because they don't suit you ?

If you want to legalise the sale of drugs, the way to do it is to ask your MP to act.
