Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Pub recomendation
I've got family from France, coming over for the Easter weekend. I'd like to bring them in a pub with their 2 children. Anywhere to recommend from finsbury Park to Alexandra palace ?

Many, many years ago I was thrown out of the Salisbury post 8pm because I was accompanied by a sleeping baby... things have definitely changed since then.

Wrong direction but worth knowing about... The Ferryboat near Tottenham Hale has a lovely garden by the reservoir and wetlands and you can walk down the canal to Springfield Park and Marina.
As far as I know the Fullback doesn't allow kids, and you probably wouldn't want to take older kids in the Salisbury as they would be bored stiff.
It's not my ideal pub but at least the Phoenix pub at Alexandra palace has the outdoor seating and the view to distract them, or they can run about on the grass below.
Other than that you can do the ten minute walk up to muswell hill from the palace, there's a gigantic wetherspoons.

Or what about walk down past big Sainsbury's follow the river round to the Woodberry Wetlands, then on past the pumping station to have a look in the climbing centre and then a walk round clissold park and lunch in The Brownswood?

I've seen children in the Fullback during the day time in the past so assume it's OK. Clissold Park way there are obviously a number of nice pubs in Stoke Newington but a bit out of the way from the original request.
I've not been to the Ferryboat before, will have to add that to the list.

Salisbury is miles better than Fullback for kids, although as mentioned younger kids may get bored once they've eaten their food

Yes it's the other direction but mentioned it as the route i described down the riverbank to the reservoirs and Wetlands and to the climbing centre and clissold park has plenty interest for kids so maybe someone else looking at this thread would find it useful, and it's the green lanes side of the park rather than stoke Newington side so not too far, although you can, and we often do, make a detour down church st to Stoke Newington. Another great thing is you can get the 141 or 341 back to harringay if you can't be bothered to walk it.

The starting gate by ally pally station is nice because the kids can play on the grass on a Sunny day and its quite lovely there in the dappled sun.

The Fullback does allow children but only up until 7pm. If you wanted a meal as well their (Thai) kitchen doesn't open until 6.30pm. As a local and a regular I wouldn't describe it as child friendly but during the (week) day when it's not so busy it would be OK.

You definitely wouldn't have liked the FB on Good Friday. By 3pm the place was heaving, even we couldn't get in. (no chance of finding a place to sit) It's a shame when customers are crowded out of their local pub by strangers.

The big problem with the Westbury is the toilets. They are upstairs and the staircase is long with minimal handrail. Otherwise a decent pub with good cask beer.

I would like to add park view cafe which although isn't a pub but the large cafe at manor house overlooking the park.with kids play area.bar and restaurant overlooking the park
I would also plug the Westbury where I have been to decently for a roast the best
The faltering fb is great but always been rammed when I have been
